About Me

Johnny Steven is a Wichita-based entrepreneur, insurance professional, and business owner with a proven track record of building and scaling successful ventures. He is the owner and operator of Eddy’s Insurance Group (EIG Insurance Center), where he leads a growing team focused on protecting individuals, families, and businesses through comprehensive insurance solutions.

In 2014, Johnny identified an opportunity to bring insurance services directly into local car dealerships. He transitioned out of the health and fitness industry, became a licensed insurance agent, and opened EIG’s first location inside Eddy’s Toyota. From there, he rapidly expanded the agency across all Eddy’s Dealerships in Wichita, building a strong sales-driven culture and trusted local brand.

Johnny was born and raised in Wichita, attending St. Jude Catholic School and Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School before continuing his education at the University of Kansas, where he joined Delta Chi Fraternity. His entrepreneurial spirit began early—at just 18 years old, he founded Your Pub Crawl Agenda, a KU-based advertising booklet that helped local businesses promote drink specials and events throughout Lawrence.

At 21, Johnny joined his brothers Rodney and Brandon Steven to help grow Genesis Health Clubs, where he spent 15 years as Director of Sales. During his tenure, he played a key role in expanding the company to 18 locations, building and overseeing sales teams across all clubs, and consistently driving performance. As his brother Rodney noted, “His leadership, commitment, and tenacity played a critical role in growing the business.”

After years of success in the fitness industry, Johnny returned to his entrepreneurial roots and transitioned into insurance full time. Today, his expertise spans auto, home, life, and commercial insurance, and he has been recognized with multiple “Top Insurance Agent” awards for his performance and client-first approach.

Family has always been at the center of Johnny’s businesses. All four of his children have worked within the insurance agency—his sons in sales roles and his daughters supporting office operations—learning firsthand the value of work ethic, customer service, and leadership. In August 2025, Johnny partnered with his oldest daughter, Brayden Steven, to co-own and manage Teriyaki Madness, a fast-casual restaurant concept offering fresh, made-to-order Japanese-inspired bowls and catering services. Together, they are actively expanding the brand into additional locations.

In 2025, Johnny continued his growth trajectory by expanding EIG Insurance Center into Scottsdale, Arizona, while also launching a new recruiting agency, Raise Your Basis, focused on helping individuals and companies elevate their careers and teams.

Beyond business, Johnny is deeply committed to giving back. He is actively involved with Ducks Unlimited, has coached and sponsored AYSO youth soccer for over 18 consecutive years, and helped launch and fully fund GFFT Beds for Kids—a charity dedicated to providing beds for children in need. His philanthropic efforts reflect his belief that strong communities are built through service, mentorship, and generosity.

Johnny lives in Wichita with his wife, Jenni Steven, and their four children—Brayden, Johnny II, Barrett, and Valynn. As a husband, father, and business owner, he understands the importance of protecting what matters most, which fuels his passion for helping clients build secure, well-protected futures.
